About the event
Indigenous/Intersectional Equity and Workforce Development:
Why Indigenous Equity Training Matters Now
Canada’s workforce faces a talent gap that is only widening. With up to 25% of the workforce set to retire within the next decade, we need an inclusive approach to workforce development. Indigenous workers are a vital, yet underrepresented group in the labour market. However, most organizations lack the confidence and strategic insight to attract, include, and retain Indigenous talent effectively. This training helps bridge the gap.
This session equips HR professionals, managers and supervisors with an actionable understanding of Indigenous equity, as well as practical strategies to support engagement. We’ll also explore Intersectionality – specifically Indigenous job seekers with disabilities – as disability prevalence is higher in Indigenous communities. Participants will also review recent research from Northern Canada and increase their understanding of approaches and strategies that have led to successful recruitment and retention.
